ORNA LALO

The entire Orna Lalo collection consists of hand-made pieces of art created by Orna.

Israel
Orna's country of birth and where she resides today with her family. They live in a small remote village in the mid south set among the serenity of surrounding orange orchards.

Resin
Orna's medium of choice for its organic workability. Usually associated with fibreglass manufacturing, resin is a two-pack process where hardener is mixed with fixer at varying ratios and poured into moulds. Once set, resin is lighter in weight than glass & friendly to touch. Prior to applying to moulds, Orna adds her colours to the resin by hand giving her full control over her creative pursuits.

"The materials I use are man-made, but I create the illusion of a natural organic material with the use of colour, translucency, opacity, and design and a variety of medias, allowing for plenty of imagination to take place with the end user".

Bulgaria
Orna's close connection to Bulgaria through family ties is where she finds most of her inspiration for her colourful creations. "Such warm and friendly people - proud with tradition and happy with life!" The lush, pine forested valleys of Bulgaria set the scene for the location of Orna's factory and design studio. Orna takes her designs to the local villages surrounding the factory and teaches the local women, young and old to assemble the pieces by hand to further empower creation. Her pieces carry with them all the intentions of everyone who touches them.

For the past twelve years, Orna has designed and manufactured products that have been sold widely throughout Israel, Europe, USA, Australia and Japan.
